Allegany County Court.

The arduous labors of this Court ended yesterday after a session of four weeks and four days. During the term the following sentences have been pronounced by the Court:
Charles Mayer, for stealing pocket book, &c., —sentenced to be confined in the Penitentiary of this State for the period of 4 years and 1 month.
Charles Friscus, for stealing two horses, the property of Adam Shultz—sentenced for 6 years.
Charles Friscus, for stealing a bundle of leather, the property of Chancey F. Shultz— sentenced for 2 years and 1 month, from and after the expiration of the 6-years for which he has been sentenced in the above case.
John Shuman, for stealing two horses, the property of Adam Shultz—sentenced for 6 years.
John Shuman, for stealing a bundle of leather, the property of Chancey F. Shultz—sentenced for 2 years and 1 month, from and after the expiration of the term of 6 years for which he has been sentenced in the above case.
John George, for stealing money, pistols, &c., the property of John Shane—sentenced for 4 years and one month.
Edward Cosgrove, for stealing razor strop and one hat, the property of Michael Healey— sentenced for 4 months.
John Miller Taylor, (negro slave,) for stealing money, the property of Jacob Kanoff—sentenced to receive 10 lashes.
John Miller, for stealing ready made clothing, the property of G. Beall, Jr.,—sentenced for 4 years and 1 month.
Henry Colenbrook, for stealing a horse and watch, the property of Henry Bucy, Jr.,—sentenced for 5 years.
Henry Colenbrook, for stealing one coat, &c., the property of Wesley Bennet—sentenced for 2 years and 6 months from and after the expiration of the term of 5 years for which he has been sentenced in the above case.
William Jones, for stealing a book &.c., the properly of L. C. Boehm—sentenced for 3 years and 1 month.
Richard W. Clarke, for the murder of his wife, found guilty in the 2nd degree—sentenced for 18 years.
Michael Milan, for an assault with intent to kill, during a riot on the line of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad—sentenced for 6 years.
Wm. Conly, same as above—sentenced for 5 years.
Timothy Flarity, same as above—sentenced for 6 yews.
John Cain, same as above—sentenced for 5 years.
John Kelly, Jr., same as above—sentenced for 5 years.
John Kelly, (Humpback,) same as above— sentenced for 6 years.
It will be seen from the above that the aggregate time for which the various parties have been sentenced by this Court to confinement in the Penitentiary, is eighty one years and three months, and that the number of prisoners is fifteen.

Notes

John Miller Taylor was the only slave listed and the only man to be lashed, rather than imprisoned.
