Georges Creek Coal and Iron Company's Washery and Tipple, Lonaconing, Md.

The washery is where the impurities were removed and the coal washed to remove the coal dust. The tipple was an elevated ramp that allowed the coal to be dropped into waiting rail cars underneath it.
