The full spreadsheet, entitled List of United States Soldiers interred in the Antietam National Cemetery including United States Regulars and Officers; where found, known and unknown ; the number from each State, and total number of interments , contains the number of Union soldiers from each state found at each location. It also lists 29 unknown soldiers who were buried there, who may have been either Union or Confederate.

At the time of the Civil War, Garrett County was still part of Allegany County.
