This church on South Prospect Street was built in 1872. An earlier church on the corner of Antietam and Summit had been destroyed by the fire that also demolished the Court House.

The instructions for editing the W.B. King photograph for making a postcard from it are clear - "Block out electric lamp and telegraph pole." The photo has an identifying number written on it - 400,825. John Frye's Hays postcard was mailed in 1906.
