In October 1905, Washington County Hospital opened in the old M.P. Moller residence at the corner of Potomac and Fairground Avenues. The hospital housed 10 beds, and there were 6 members of the hospital staff and 12 physicians. During the first year of operation, 106 patients were admitted to the hospital. The average cost per day to the patient was $2.39. (Washington County Hospital, 2005)
