Genuine Antique Shown In Window

An interesting item on the Battle of Antietam is on view in Rudy's window. It is an equestrian portrait of General McClellan on his fiery war horse "Devil Dan" as he went plunging along before the long lines of troops in review before President Lincoln in 1862. It is not a reproduction, but a genuine original published by Currier and Ives in 1862.

It is owned by Dr. Joseph Protzman, an amateur collector of Smithsburg.
