RABBI CHAZIN WILL SPEAK AT SERVICE HERE

"Antietam Speaks To Dictatorships" Will Be Sunday Topic.

To mark the seventy fifth anniversary of the Battle of Antietam a special commemorative service will be held at the Synagogue of Congregation B’Nai Abraham on East Baltimore street on Sunday evening at 7:45 o'clock.

Rabbi Pinchos Chazin of the Jewish Theological Seminary of New York was engaged to officiate during the Jewish Holy Day services at the local Synagogue will also conduct the special Commemorative service.
The distinguished New Yorker will speak on the subject "Antietam Speaks to Dictators”. He will also lead a choir composed of Messrs. Pollack, Meyer Berkson, Max Schindler, Nat Raskin and William Schindler in the rendition of several hymn and patriotic songs.

Rabbi Chazin's career has been marked by many distinctions. Born in Minneapolis, his family came East to take advantage of its varied educational facilities. He graduated from the Teachers' Institute of Yeshiva College with highest honors and from the College of the City of New York, where he excelled in debating and with honors in extemporaneous public speaking.

His activities have been particularly devoted to the cultural and social problems of youth. Through National Young Judaea and through the Young People's League of the United Synagogue of America, of whose Metropolitan Speakers' Bureau he is chairman, he has helped in the organization of youth groups and the promotion of inter-faith meetings for better understanding and good will among members of different religious denominations. He has ever cherished and worked for the idea, that through education and the interchange of opinions, America's ideal of political and social democracy can find its embodiment.

Rabbi Chazin is past president of several youth organizations, and at present heads "Chavriah" an organization in Perth. Amboy, New Jersey, dedicated to the promotion of higher Jewish learning and the establishment of scholarships for that purpose.

The service will be broadcast over station WJEJ from 8 to 8:30 p. m.
Mr. Moses S. Grossman, chairman of the arrangements committee, will make the broadcasting announcements.
The general public is cordially invited to attend the Commemoration service.
