Will Re-Enact Holmes' Stay

Floyd Gibbons Will Go On Air Sept. 16 With Episode.

Floyd Gibbons, noted radio commentator, will re-enact the historical episode of the stay in Hagerstown of Captain Oliver Wendell Holmes following his wounding at the Battle of Antietam.

Mrs. James Findlay, at whose home here Captain Holmes, later to become a famous Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, stayed, received a letter today from Mr. Gibbons stating that he would put it on the air over WABC chain on the night of September 16 at 9 o'clock E. S. T. Mrs. Findlay has given her consent for the broadcast.

Captain Holmes was severely wounded in the neck at the Battle of Antietam and came to Hagerstown a few days later and was invited to convalesce at the home of Mrs. Findlay's mother, which is Mt. Prospect. He remained there several days.
