Click on the MEDIA ITEMS below for more information

lie the remains of the Federal troops who fell on that bloody field, and which contains one of the most striking monuments of the kind to be found in this country — a colossal granite statue of a private soldier standing sentinel. Towards the west and farther off is seen the ridge of North Mountain, a spur of the great Alleghany range. Several peaks attract attention, from which beautiful views are obtained. Nearly to the west of Hagerstown is seen the gap through which the Potomac river breaks in its course towards the sea.
