Dear Sir:
In answer to your letter of March the 19th I am a surviving veteran of the War Between the States.

I was in Company A, 28th N. C. Branch (?)Brigade, A. P. Hill's div. It have been so long I don't know all of (?) I was all of the Battles of Robert E. Lee and A. P. Hill except two, one at Geterburg (?) P.A. and Petersburg V.A. When our army started across the Potomac River, when we started across the Potomac River our builders were exzoned (?) by the Doctor and brought back to Winchester and kept there until our army came back.

Dear Sir:
If there is any moore information that I can give you I will be glad to do so, but I can show anybody the place that all of the Battles took place and things of interest.
