Marshall, Okla.
April 17, 1937.

United States Antietam Celebration Commission
45 E. Washington St
Hagerstown
Maryland

Dear Sirs:
In regard to your inquiry as to my participation in the battle of Antietam. I did take part in that battle.

I was in the 12th Corps, 1st Wisconsin, 2nd Brigade, 3rd Wisconsin Infantry.

I had a brother (my right hand man) Izaac Thurlow shot down in that battle.

My clothes were full of bullet holes, my canteen shot off and three guns shot out of my hand.

I was born 1841, will be 96 years old the 28th November, 1937. I served 4 yrs and 4 mths on the duration of the war.

I had 3 brothers in the army. I made the March to the Sea with Sherman, would like to attend your anniversary but doubtful if I can.

Respt.
Albion Thurlow.
