There are four newspapers in the town, two of which, the News and Globe, publish daily editions. The other two are old established weeklies the Herald and Torch-Light and The Mail. The Torch Light was established in 1814 and was many years afterwards consolidated with the Herald of Freedom and the name changed to its present one. The Mail has continued under the same name since its foundation in 1828. Connected with each of these newspaper offices is a well-equipped job printing office.
