Hagerstown: An Illustrated Description,
J. Gruber's Hagerstown Almanack.
J. GRUBER HAGERSTOWN TOWN AND COUNTRY ALMANACK,
which you and your ancestors have been using for nearly one hundred years, was originated by John Gruber in Hagerstown, Md., in 1796, and has always been considered the most reliable Almanack published. It is still owned by the daughter and grand-daughter of the founder. Like all good and well established articles in trade, it has imitators which endeavour to secure the profit which rightly belongs to the genuine article, by making themselves so similar thereto, as to deceive for the time being its regular patrons. There are two of these imitations published in Baltimore, where they are owned and printed and are falsely called "Hagerstown Almanack," although they have not the slightest connection with Hagerstown. EXAMINE WELL THE TITLE PAGE when you purchase, and if THE NAME OF J. GRUBER is NOT AT THE TOP, you may at once know that it is not the old and well established Almanack you have been accustomed to receive.
Copies sent by mail on receipt of the price, 10 cts each. Special prices to dealers.
