At the request of Major Pierce the Club voted to F. E. Newcomer the sum of $5.00 for the purpose of tuning piano and purchasing small articles for the Club. There being no other business the Club adjourned to meet again on Sep 15, 1900.

Saturday Evening Sep. 22, 1900

The Republican Club was called to order by the President Major Josiah Pierce Jr. who addressed the Club. The following resolution was unanimously carried by Club and read as follows.

This is to certify that the Furniture in the Club Room of the Boonsboro Republican Club consisting of 1Piano and 1 Piano stool – 4 Tables – 1 Sofa – 1 Hat Rack – Chairs – 1 Brass Lamp, 13 Japanese Caricatures, the Maps on the wall, 2 pcs. Spanish Bunting and also Books catalogued in the name of Josiah Pierce Jr. are the property of Major Josiah Pierce Jr. and are merely loaned to the Club for the benefit and use of its members and may be removed by him at any time. On motion the Executive committee were authorized to confer with F. E. Newcomer and secure his services as manager of the Club Room and Library. Upon a unanimous vote the club decided to call their regular Saturday evening meetings here after promptly at 7:30 P.M. The Club also granted to the Ladies the use of the Club room on Tuesday & Friday
