The deposit station box, used in Harvey S. Bomberger's store, is now in the library in Boonsboro. The box would have been in use from November 1901 until 1905 when the joint collection of the former Republican Club and the Washington County Free Library was established. The box had three shelves and was intended to hold fifty books.

Notes:
Harvey Bomberger's role in the establishment of the Boonsboro library is noted in
A History of Washington County
, Thomas J.C. Williams, 1906:
An enterprise which has had the sympathy of Mr. Bomberger is the extension of libraries throughout the country. He was active, with others, in the establishment of the Free Library and Reading Room of Boonsboro, in 1905, and was chosen President of the association. This institution is a chartered organization. It has been very successful, and now has a collection of 700 books and 1000 magazines. It is becoming a valuable demonstration in the line of this particular work, as adapted to small communities. As a member of the legislature, Mr. Bomberger originated legislation in the interest of public libraries throughout the State, which has been helpful in promoting later efforts conducive to these ends.
