“Died. At Western Maryland Hospital, January 14, 1910, Miss Anna Cessna, of this place, aged 45 [sic] years. The funeral was held at the residence of John G. Dennison, Borden.” [FMJ 1-22-1910, p. 3]

The notice of Miss Cessna’s death and funeral was also located in SPL. However, the dates in SPL give a different death age than the newspaper.

“Miss Ada Chaney, aged 67 years, died at 2:35 o’clock yesterday afternoon at Miner’s Hospital of paralysis suffered about a week ago. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Daniel Lewis and Mrs. A.E. Burton, this place. The funeral will take place at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon from the home of her nephew, W.H.R. Thomas, 12 Uhl street. Burial will be in Percy cemetery.” [CET 5-23-1925, p. 14].

According to the 1900 Census, Ms. Chaney became a nurse.

“Death of an Old Citizen.—John C. Chaney, boss carpenter of Borden Shaft, died very suddenly at his home near that place Saturday evening, 9th inst. He was near three score and ten and had been for many years an employee of the Borden mining company. He was an upright, honest, industrious citizen and for a long time an exemplary member of the M.E. Church. His wife and seven grown children survive.” [FMJ 4-16-1887, p. 1]
