“Mrs. Mary Merrill Roaden Michael, aged 64, widow of Joseph P. Michael, died at her home Mechanic street Frostburg, this morning, following an illness of ten days. Death was attrbuted [sic] to pneumonia.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mary Spalla, one granddaughter, one grandson and one great-grandson, Frostburg, together with one brother, George Roaden, England, and four sisters, Mrs. William Porter, Meyersdale, Mrs. Enoch Pritchard, Mrs. H. Hotchkiss, and Harriet Roaden all of England.
She was a native of England and had been a resident of Frostburg for 45 years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.” [CET 3-1-1933, p. 9]
“The funeral of Mrs. Mary Michael, 60 [sic]. Widow of Joseph P. Michael, who died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Mary Willison, Eckhart, will take place from her home in Frostburg at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon. Services will be conducted by Rev. Walter V. Simon, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Allegany [sic] cemetery.” [CET 3-2-1933, p. 9]
“Funeral of Mrs. Mary M. Michaels [sic]. The funeral of Mrs. Mary Merrill Michaels [sic], aged 60, who died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. William Willison, Eckhart, Wednesday, was held from her home on West Mechanic street, Sunday afternoon. Rev. Walter V. Simon, pastor of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, officiated. Interment was in Percy Cemetery. The pallbearers were: John A. Miller, Anthony Ruffo, William Wilderman, William Dugan, Frank Pfaff and Stanley Pressman. The flower bearers were: Nelson Folk, Harold and William Thomas, James Rank, William Lewis and Joseph Grimm. The funeral was largely attended. Among those from out of town attending were: Mrs. Sara Porter, Mrs. Robert Sagey, Louis and Nicholas Porter of Meyersdale; Mrs. Edward Lewis and family, LaVale; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Renotes and family, Mr. and Mrs. Truman Fuller and Mr. and Mrs. Casper Thomas, Cumberland.” [CET 3-7-1933]

MILLER, MARY ELIZABETH SORG

“The funeral of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Miller, aged 82 years, who died at her home Tuesday morning, took place this afternoon at 2 o’clock with services at St. George’s Protestant Episcopal Church, Rev. J.W. Tarkington, pastor, officiating. Interment was made in Percy Cemetery, Frostburg. Mrs. Miller was a highly esteemed resident of Mt. Savage. She was born in Bavaria and came to America when nine years old and resided in Pittsburgh until 1851. In 1860 she married George Miller and lived in Frostburg until 1882 when they moved to Mt. Savage. Mr. Miller died in 1887. Mrs. Miller is survived by four sons: Michael, Charles, George and John and one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Workman, Frostburg. Fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grand-children also survive.” [CET 4-17-1924, p. 14]
