Maryland Home was built in the early 190Os. By 1916 it was being run as the Maryland Inn.

Maryland Inn. Special Rates for Camp Meeting.
Will be managed by Mrs. C. S. Tower, who with former experience and competent help will guarantee perfect satisfaction. House is well arranged with all modern and Sanitary improvements. Water analyzed and pronounced pure. Will be open for guests June 1st.

The February 2, 1928 headline in The Republican read: Federal Men Get Still at Mt. Lake. The still was located one block below the new auditorium in a house owned by Mrs Isabel Hill of Washington and which has been occupied for the past three months by Peter Davis, a Grecian, aged 38 years. The still was located in the front bedroom of the upper floor while the mash and manufactured product was scattered about and through various other portions of the building.
