first officer in charge was Commander Gray. Presently Lieutenant Commander Eggleston is the officer in charge and is in command of 180 recruits and six regular Navy enlisted men. The enlisted regular Navy men are one recruiter, two administrators, one hospital mate, one machinist mate, and one store keeper. There is also a Reserve Naval Construction Battalion, Detachment 0623 - SeeBees. This is the group that built the C&O Canal Boat replica that is at North Branch. They are also active with the Boy and Girl Scouts. The Naval Reserve Center is at No. 1 Naval Way on McKaig's Hill overlooking Cumberland.
