These are some of the metal pieces that Ed Itnyre has found on his land on Park Hall Road, near Rohrersville. The property was owned at one time by Lockwood Rines, the operator of the Washington Marble Company who quarried marble on the Shifler land a mile away.

Ed wrote in his research paper The Kefauver Home Place on Park Hall Road: When the property was sold to Clarence Shifer in 1916, it was sold with all of the personal property "now contained in and on said lands." According to Leon Slifer, there was an extensive amount of hardware related to the quarry, including large iron pulley wheels (my term), cutting tools, drills, and a rope-making machine. Leon states that much was buried in the cement of the lower barn floor, much buried along a fill by the creek, and much taken to the dump. Some of that buried along the creek has surfaced and has been preserved. Included are pulley wheels and spikes or wedges.
