Brandt Furniture Store is on the right hand side of the street. Their entry in the 1893 City Directory read: Brandt E S & Son, (E S & H E) furniture and carpets 31 S Potomac.

Behind it is the spire of St John's Lutheran Church. Hotel Central is on the corner of the Square. The "H" of its sign is visible.

A bakery wagon is tied in front of the Elks Hall.
