In 1953 Henry's Theatre in Hagerstown showed How to Marry a Millionaire, starring Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable and Lauren Bacall. It was in Cinemascope and so "the Most Glamorous Entertainment of Your Lifetime" which you could see without glasses. The admission price for an adult was 60 cents.

Carol Miller-Schultz, the daughter of the owner, John L. Miller, said that for a first run movie, like Love Story in 1970, her father had to put up $25,000 seven days prior to the opening to guarantee that the movie would come to Hagerstown and be shown at Henry's.
