WILLS CREEK BANKS AS DUMPING GROUND

For several months tons of rubbish, garbage, debris and trash of all kinds have been dumped by unidentified teamsters and trucks along Wills Creek bank above the glass house switch of the Cumberland Electric Railway line and extending to the stone bridge in the Narrows. Representatives of the State Board of Health today placed warning signs forbidding dumping under penalty of arrest and fines.

Piles of waste materials of every conceivable kind present a most offensive sight to tourists on trains and automobiles entering the city. The protective fencing along the National Pike has been broken down in places with axes and bars by unknown parties, and their trucks and wagons backed in and the contents spilled. In recent weeks haulers of this mind have deliberately converted the banks of the creek into a dumping ground, as a quick and easy solution of getting rid of their loads.
