AUTO STREWS ROAD WITH SCREWS AND TACKS

Tacks and screws, many of them standing upright in the roadway, were found on the Amcelle and Cresaptown roads yesterday by William R. Moore, traffic manager of the Cumberland Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Moore noticed the pointed instruments all along the road from the point' on the Cresaptown road where the large touring car of J. Eugene Taylor was wrecked by fire late Sunday night.

Moore took the trouble to gather more than a dozen of a varied assortment of the "tire destroyers" and is holding them awaiting a reply to a letter to the State Superintendent of Highways, whom he asked to dispatch a sweeper to the section.

City officials have also been notified and asked to take action to curb such carelessness. The car was hauled to a local garage and it was on the trip to town that the screws and tacks were jarred from the demolished body.
