Cumberland, by a vote of the people, was selected as the county seat. Foremost among old Allegany's resources are her illimitable deposits of Bituminous Coal, to the early development of which is chiefly due her vast material prosperity, and on this day an Exhibit of this Industry will be presented such as never before been witnessed in this Section. At night a magnificent display of Fire Works and a general illumination of the City will take place.
