Herald and Torch Light - September 18, 1872

Unknown Soldiers. Out of upwards of five hundred Confederate soldiers, interred in Rose Hill Cemetery, only twenty-nine are said to be known. Out of Three Hundred and Seven Thousand Union soldiers interred in the different Cemeteries of the country, we see it stated that One Hundred and Forty Thousand are unknown.
