Hagerstown, November 9, 1814

Agreeably to General Order, dated Adjutant General’s Office, 30th Oct. 1814 the company under the command of Capt. Henry Lowry, having faithfully performed their tour of service expected from them, were honorably discharged the service of the United States.

Capt. L feels it is a duty incumbent to return his most sincere thanks to those patriotic youths, who were ever ready and willing to obey his commands, wishing them a safe and pleasant return to their homes — but yet a request—-that they may ever stand ready at the call of their country to meet and repel an invading foe, which should be the pride of every true American.
