TROOPS IN THIS COUNTY.

—The 1st Maryland Regiment, which is still at Downsville, and the 4th Connecticut, divided into two battalions and respectively stationed at Hagerstown and Williamsport, are the only Federal troops at present in the county. Hagerstown and Williams port have hitherto been important posts for the government, large quantities of stores, ammunition, mules, wagons &c, having been kept at both places, but the position of the Army at Harper's Ferry and the resumption of travel and transportation on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad to that point, will hereafter divert from our midst this depository of war material, and render troops here unnecessary.
