WILLIAMSPORT. Md., Sept. 13, 1852

We have a line of steam packets running from this place to Harper's Ferry and the District cities. Passengers start from this place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning at 7 o'clock, and reach Georgetown every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning at 5 o'clock—a distance of 100 miles— and all for the low sum of $3.75, including fare and meals.

Messrs. A. K. Stake &, Co., will soon launch another fine canal boat of 125 tons, and the Messrs. Chaney have already finished one of 150 tons, called "C. T. Porterfield."— Business in flour and grain is pretty brisk at this place, the streets being lined every day with wagons tilled with flour and grain destined for Georgetown and Alexandria.

Yours &c. S. H. H.
