Nov. the 1st 1862
A protracted meeting was to have commenced at this place on last sunday morning but on account of rain during Sunday & monday morning the meeting was not commenced untill tuesday evening last but has continued each evening since that time. The girls returned on tuesday morning being disappointed by the meeting's not going on.
The weather has been quite fine since the rain.

Nov. 10th 1862
Our health is very good at this time. Praise the Lord for his many mercies. Snow commenced falling on last friday morning (Nov. the 7th ) about nine o’clock and continued during the day without intermission untill about 9 o’clock in the evening of the same day when the clouds passed away and the moon shown out brightly upon the country which had every appearance of midwinter. The snow was then about 3 inches deep.
Jimmie Maxwell having come over on last friday morning after us to attend a quarterly meeting at Koontz Chaple. We went over on the evening of the same day through snow & arrived there about sunset. The meeting did not commence untill yesterday morning & on account of the weather (I suppose). We had but a slim congregation. It is still in progress. Our meeting at this place closed on tonight one week ago, having no converts except a frog.
Our babe was baptized on last Saturday (evening Nov. the 8th 1862) by Rev. Stevenson preacher on Frederick circuit. We called him Robert Edgar. May the Lord make him a man after God's own heart, and a blessing to us.

1863 January the 16th
