Women Of Hagerstown Organizing

In response to the appeal from the National Sanitary Commission the Loyal Women of Hagerstown have organized themselves into an association for the purpose of furnishing such articles as may be necessary for the relief of our brave and patriotic soldiers. The articles primarily wanted are blankets, quilts of cheap material about seven feet long by fifty inches wide, woolen or canton flannel bed gowns, wrappers undershirts and drawers; also small hair and feather pillows and cushions for wounded limbs, woollen socks and slippers. We understand the Society organized by electing Mrs. Harry president, Mr Sneary vice-president, Miss McKee secretary, and Mrs. Boult treasurer; and also appointed a Board of Trustees consisting of Miss Lavinia Mobley, Miss Annie Bennett, Mrs. Maria Wantz, Miss Fannie Schleigh, and Mrs. Laura King.       (Herald and Torch)
