Our office last week was graced by the genial presence of that prince of good fellows, Major Dorsey Herbert, Paymaster U. S. A., who, being granted a brief respite from the duties of his position, improved the opportunity of visiting his numerous friends in Hagerstown, from whom he ever receives a cordial welcome. The MAJOR represents our army as being in splendid condition and states that among both officers and men great confidence prevails of the early overthrow of the hosts of treason and the triumph of our righteous cause.
