July 5 1865 - Reamer released,

Click on the MEDIA ITEMS below for more information

J.D. Reamer, of this place, has been unconditionally released from the Old Capitol Prison and returned to this home.

Herald & Torch Light

Mr. Reamer's arrest was not found in the extant Hagerstown papers. The Alexandria Gazette fills in the gap:
J.D. Reamer, a prominent merchant of Hagerstown, Md., was arrested in that place on Tuesday and brought to Washington yesterday, upon the charge of having some knowledge of the conspiracy against President Lincoln and his Cabinet.
Alexandria Gazette, April 22, 1865.
