HANCOCK BUSY TAKING CARE FLOOD VICTIMS

Nearly 300 Driven From Homes; May Be Able To Return Within A Week

Hancock, Md., Mar. 21 — Their homes swept away by the floods, approximately 50 persons were quartered at the fire company's headquarters here today while the Red Cross furnished them food and pressed rehabilitation activities.

Upwards of 175 others, Nathan Sine, Red Cross representative, estimated, were driven temporarily from their homes and were living with friends or relatives. They hoped the water, mud and debris would be sufficiently cleared from their homes for them to be able to return within a week or two. Some of the dwellings will have to be practically rebuilt, so badly were they damaged.

"We have set up a canteen and are feeding everyone who is in need," Sine said. "The army has supplied (Continued on Page 3)
