SNOW-ICE-FLOODS
ANOTHER VICTORY
MAIN GENERATING PLANT OF THE POTOMAC EDISON SYSTEM SILENCED BY RECENT FLOOD
The two pictures at top were taken of the Williamsport Power Plant after 3,200,000 gallons of water had flooded the condenser pit and stopped generating operations.
At Bottom: Three scenes taken at Williamsport after the water had receded. Note the tremendous deposit of debris, which blocked the entrance to the plant and disrupted rail service. An army of workers labored day and night to open the roadway and restore normal rail service.
DEEP SNOW HANDICAPS PERSONNEL IN FROSTBURG DISTRICT Jack Stewart, District Manager, shown in picture on extreme left, reported "Worst Storm in History of Operation" and sent pictorial proof.
