Apostle Milton James Peoples was the founder and Pastor of the Maranatha Christian Fellowship in Cumberland, Maryland. The following is from the Adams Family Funeral Home website, June 27, 2017:

Cumberland, MD – Apostle Milton James Peoples, 74, founder and Pastor of the Maranatha Christian Fellowship, Cumberland, MD, went to his eternal home on Sunday, June 25, 2017, surrounded by his family.

Born April 17, 1943, in Washington, DC, Mr. Peoples was preceded in death by his grandmother, who raised him: Ethel Murray: and a brother: Clifton Peoples, Jr.

Milton is survived by his wife of 34 years: Carolyn J. Peoples; and his brother: Thomas Peoples (Laretta). He also leaves behind his children: Marietta Cameron (Carlos); Lucretia Peoples; Terri Wicks; Kenneth Wicks, Jr., (Sandra); and Kim Wormack (James); his grandchildren: Nathaniel Johnson, Jr., (Ayawna); Kenneth Harris; Matthew Wicks; Derrick Wicks; Nahshon Outten; Jamel Peoples; Justin Butler; Natalie Wicks; Rebekah Wormack; Leah Wormack; Rachel Wormack; Micah Wormack; Nyisha Jackson; Nequonna Cameron; and Tashana Peoples; eight great grandchildren: and a host of family and friends.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

A Home Going service will be conducted at the Maranatha Christian Fellowship, 918 Gay Street, Cumberland, MD, on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at 12:00 Noon with Elder James Adkins, Jr., officiating. The family will also receive friends at the church from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.
