— DECATUR, Ga. —Arthur Windell Washington III, passed away May 29, 2010 in Atlanta.
He served in the U.S. military at Davis Monthan A.F.B. in Tucson, Ariz., and was deployed to many foreign countries. He was a graduate of Allegany High School, Cumberland, Md.
He was a loving son of Arthur (Winn) Washington Jr. and Carrie Virginia Jackson-Washington; father to three beautiful children, Wendelyn Jewel, Timothy Sinclair and Arthur Windell Washington IV. He married Wilma-Jean Barnes Washington in 1959. He was also a thoughtful educational type of grandfather to three brilliant granddaughters, Nikol Alexandria, Alexis Sinclair and Jaya Glorious Washington.
After the military life he settled down and became an insurance agent. After 35 years as an insurance agent he retired, and became a very devoted church member at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Decatur, Ga. He served in the choir, various church committees, and he also served his God faithfully.
