Arthur Wen Washington Jr., 86, of 3003 Miriam Court, Decatur, Ga., formerly of Cumberland, died Feb. 25, 2004, in Decatur.

Born June 28, 1917, in Cumberland, Arthur was one of eight children born to the late Arthur W. Washington Sr. and Devonia Bullett Washington. All siblings with the exception of one sister preceded him in death. Survivors are a loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Mrs. Carrie Virginia (Jackson) Washington; a devoted son, Mr. Arthur W. Washington III; loving grandchildren, Ms. Wendelyn Jewel Washington, Mr. Timothy Sinclar Washington and Mr. Arthur W. Washington IV; three great-granddaughters; one sister, Mrs. Pearlene Daniel of Buffalo, N.Y.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services were held Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at Gus Thornhills Chapel, 1315 Gus Thornhill Jr. Drive, East Point, Ga., with the Rev. Clayton E. Taylor officiating. Interment was in South-View Cemetery.
