Carrie Reva Washington, 95, of Keyser, went to be with her heavenly father on Feb. 24, 2001.

Born on Sept. 18, 1905, in Piedmont, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Bessie (Marshall) Campbell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Melvin Washington in 1975; five sisters; and one brother. She is survived by daughters, Bessie R. Brooks and husband Clifton E. Brooks of Keyser, Verda Thomas of Philadelphia, Pa.; and a foster daughter, Laura Galloway of New Jersey. Also surviving are sister-in-law, Mamie Campbell, Ohio; two nieces, Ruth Ellis of California, and Rita Redman of Keyser; five nephews, Stewart Twyman Sr., Frostburg, Md., Charles Campbell, Philadelphia, William Campbell, Keyser, Richard Campbell and Robert Campbell, both of Ohio.

She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, Julian (Sandy) Thomas and wife Susan, Robert Thomas and wife Terra, both of Cumberland, Md., Jackie Washington, April Smith and husband Bill, Raeford (Mickey) Brooks Sr. and wife Alta, Ricardo Brooks and wife Vanessa, Victoria Brooks and friend Victor Marshall, Brenda Brooks, Timothy Brooks Sr. and fiancée Renee Moochou, all of Keyser, Clifton Brooks Jr. and wife Barbara, Martinsburg, Willie Williams, Pernell Thomas, Judy Knight and husband Charles, Charles Thomas and wife Kasia, Melba Thomas and Guy Thomas, all of Philadelphia, Kathy Taylor, Virginia, Barbara Jean Washington, Gloria Galloway, New Jersey, Paulette Hollingsworth, Texas, and Rodney Galloway, California; 73 great-grandchildren; 40 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of friends. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Mrs. Washington was a homemaker and a member of the Walden United Methodist Church in Piedmont.

The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont. Interment will be in Torn Rose Cemetery in Keyser.
