Ebenezer Full Gospel Church to honor McIntyres

CUMBERLAND — Ebenezer Full Gospel Baptist Church, 861 Columbia Ave., will host a celebration marking the 22nd anniversary of service for Pastor John B. McIntyre Sr. and first lady Earline McIntyre Sunday beginning at 4 p.m. Pastor Stephon Knox executive pastor of Ebenezer, will be the speaker and Pastor Darin Allen, gospel recording artist and founder and senior pastor of Greater Works Ministries Church, Columbus, Ohio, will be a guest.

The McIntyres have been traveling from Washington, D.C.. since 1989 to serve as pastors of Ebenezer. Their tireless commitment to the church and the Cumberland community will be honored.

McIntyre was consecrated as a bishop Aug. 26. 2005, by The Lord's Churches Fellow ships and Ministries International Inc., by Leslie Patterson Jr., presiding bishop, and Grant B. Williams Jr., arch bishop.

McIntyre is a native Washingtonian and is the oldest of seven children of the late Deacon John McIntyre and Deaconess Carrie L McIntyre. He has been married to the former Earline Smith for 43 years and the couple have seven children and 23 grandchildren.

McIntyre graduated from the Washington Technical Institute and Federal City College, the current University of the District of Columbia, earning undergraduate degrees in psychology and nursing science. He retired from Elizabeth Hospital in Washington after 33 years of service.

McIntyre is a member of a number of professional counseling organizations, including the American Association of Christian Counselors. He currently serves as chairman of the Department of Christian Counseling at Faith University and Schools, Fort Washington.

Evangelist Earline McIntyre received her early spiritual development as a young child at the Bible Way Temple in Washington. D.C. She completed her formal education in the D.C. public school system and earned her license as a professional cosmetologist.

Earline attended The Wilbur H. Waters School of Religion and Howard University School of Religion, both in Washington, and The National School of Ministry, Fort Washington, and graduated with honors from the Jericho Bible College, Washington. She later received a master of divinity degree from the Andersonville Baptist Seminary. Camille. Ga.

Earline was ordained in August 2000 by The National Association Council of Community Churches of America and Elsewhere Inc. She currently serves as first lady and co pastor at both Ebenezer Full Gospel Baptist Church and The Courts of Praise Christian Church, Forestville.

Knox has served numerous capacities within the church, including senior pastor, youth pastor, associate pastor, assistant pastor and worship leader. He has held national offices and currently serves as the secretary general for the Ecumenical Alliance of Independent Fellowships and Ministries.

Knox and his wife, Justine, have three sons and two daughters.

Allen will lead song and praise throughout the service. He is a native of the Piedmont and Keyser area and has been in ministry for more 20 years.

Allen is a Gospel Music Association award winning songwriter and his solo album. "Invitation to Praise," and his sophomore album, "Released to Worship," reflect his musical prowess.

Allen receives spiritual covering through Cornerstone Global Network, an international ministry in Toledo, Ohio. He has been married to DeAnn Allen for 12 years and the couple have three children.
