Eva Biggs

The following obituary is from the Adams Family Funeral Hone website. Along with the photo of Eva Biggs we have also included a photograph from 1976 depicting Eva Biggs along with her sisters who were competing in a local bowling tournament:

Cumberland, MD – Eva Louis Biggs, 86, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021, at UPMC Western Maryland.

Born at Miner Hospital, Frostburg, MD, Miss Biggs was the daughter of the late William Lewis Biggs, Sr., and Serena Viola (Williams) Biggs. She was also preceded in death by her sister: Rae A. Sharpe, 1995; and her best friend: Juanita D. Harris, 2000.

Eva graduated from Carver High School, Cumberland, MD. She retired from the United States Air Force with twenty years of service during the Korean and Vietnam Eras. Eva also retired from the Potomac Edison Company with eleven years of service. She was a life-member of the Non-Commission Officers Association; the Air Force Women's Association; the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #172; the Farraday Post #24 American Legion, Frostburg, MD; the United States Air Force Women's Memorial Association; the Sheriff's Associations; the Frostburg United Methodist church; and the United States Bowling Congress. Eva loved to bowl and had many bowling friends and associations.

Eva is survived by her sisters: Ida C. Jackson; E. Jane Biggs; E. Jo Hall; and Gail L. Rhodes; her brothers: William L. Biggs, Jr., and Paul L. Biggs; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

There will be no viewing or service. Upon her request her body will be cremated and will be interred in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 10:00 A.M.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Farraday Post #24 Honor Guard.
