Irene O. "Winnie" Keys, 82, formerly of Glenn Street, Cumberland, then a resident of Lions Manor Nursing Home, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, in Lions Manor Nursing Home.
Born Nov. 29, 1921, in Pittsburgh, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Irene (Malone) Byrd. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a son, Nial F. Keys Jr. in 1976 and a sister, Constance Ritchie. Mrs. Keys was a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Cumberland. Surviving are her husband, Nial F. Keys Sr.; a son, Rodney Keys and wife Vivian of LaVale; a daughter-in-law, Shireen of Cumberland; grandsons, Michael P. Keys of Cumberland and Jeffrey Keys of Cumberland; and two sisters, Roberta Thompson of Somerset and Lorraine Sailes and husband William of Omaha, Neb.
Friends will be received in the Hafer Funeral Service, P.A., Chapel of the Hills, 1302 National Highway, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Cumberland on Monday at 2 p.m. with Bob Cannon officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
