New Church Nears Completion

The new McKendree Methodist Church at 203 Paca Street, seen here, is nearing completion and the congregation hopes to hold its first service in the edifice the Sunday before Christmas. The exterior of the church is completed, except for landscaping and excellent progress is being made on the interior. The church was built at a cost of about $20,000 by Russell G. Robeson, area contractor. Ground for the new church was broken on September 26 and the cornerstone of the partially completed building was laid on October 20. At present the congregation is meeting at 107 South Lee Street.
