Allegany County Md. Campaign Buttons 40

As a result of the November 4, 2014 General Election, Jake Shade, Creade Brodie, Jr., and Bill Valentine, all Republicans, were elected to the position Allegany County Commissioner. Tom Striplin and Kevin M. Shaffer, both Democrats, were unsuccessful in their election bids.

The following three Republicans had been successful in the June 2014 Republican Primary for the three-member Board of Allegany County Commissioners and went onto the November 2014 General Election. A fourth Republican candidate, Mark Widmyer, who had been elected in 2010 as a Judge to the three-member Allegany County Orphans Court, was unsuccessful.

Jake Shade, a Republican and candidate for Allegany County Commissioner, has as his campaign slogan "Our County - Our Future." Expanding and assisting businesses already existing in the county, as well as attracting new businesses, the creation of job opportunities for local college graduates and improving the working relationship between the Board of Allegany County Commissioners and the Board of Education are among his priorities.

Bill Valentine was among the three Republicans elected to the Board of Allegany County Commissioners in the November, 2010 General Election.

Creade Brodie, Jr. was among the three Republicans elected to the Board of Allegany County Commissioners in the November, 2010 General Election. His slogan is "Moving Forward.”

There were two Democrats in the June 2014 primary, both of whom went onto the General Election. These were Kevin M. Shaffer and Tom Striplin, who had previously served on the Allegany County Board of Education from 2004 until 2010. Striplin then ran for election to the Board of Allegany County Commissioners, won in the Primary but lost in the General Election of that year.
