Thomas named to Daily Record's VIP List for 2012

CUMBERLAND — Courtney Thomas, executive director of the Allegany County Human Resources Development Commission, has been named to The Daily Record’s 2012 VIP List — Very Important Professionals Successful By 40 Awards.

The Daily Record, which has provided legal and business information to Maryland readers for 124 years, created its VIP List to recognize younger professionals who have been successful across Maryland. Winners are selected on the basis of professional accomplishment, civic involvement and impact of achievement.

Thomas, a resident of Cumberland, joined HRDC in 2002 as director of the Department of Housing and Community Resources. She was named executive director in 2007 and was previously named to The Daily Record’s List Maryland’s Leading Women in 2011.

The editors of The Daily Record selected 40 winners to the 2012 VIP List of Very Important Professionals Successful by 40. The winners will be honored Aug. 22 at a cocktail reception at Gertrude’s at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Winners also will be profiled in a special magazine to be included in the Aug. 24 edition of The Daily Record.

“Our 2012 VIP list winners are amazing individuals who have made an impact in then-professional communities and certainly are people to watch,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record. “We celebrate our honorees’ accomplishments and hope that by telling their stories, other young professionals will be inspired.”

Sponsors of The Daily Record’s 2012 VIP List include Wells Fargo, Comcast and Epsilon Registration and VPC Inc.
