The first known girls' basketball game to take place in Allegany County occurred on the afternoon of March 1, 1910. This was an exhibition game between the Blues and the Whites which was played in the basement of Allegany County High School. The girls wore white middies, very full black bloomers, fastened well below the knees, and black cotton stockings. One basket was used during the game which was won by the Whites by a score of 27-25. A girls' athletic association was formed during that same year.
