Margaret K. Esposito, 1931

Margaret was born in Alabama and grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. She joined the Air Force after her high school graduation. Upon marrying John Esposito in 1952 they moved to Cumberland, John's hometown, after he completed four years in the Air Force. Margaret went on to attend Cumberland's Catherman's Business School.

According to an article which appeared in the September 30, 1952 edition of the Cumberland Evening Times, she is the first Maryland veteran, female or otherwise, to receive training and educational assistance under the new Korean G.I. Bill. Margaret served in the U.S. Air Force for thirteen months, from January 2, 1951 to February 19, 1952.
