$100 REWARD.

RAN AWAY from the subscriber living about one mile and a half north of Sharpsburg, on the road leading to Hagerstown, on Saturday the 11th August ult. a dark, negro man who calls himself BEN JOHNSON, about 19 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high—stout, & very clumsy in his walk, goes lame generally, his right ancle is much thicker than the left, he often complains of much pain with it, shews his teeth very much when he smiles, and has a down look when spoken to. Had on and took with him 1 pair of tow linen pantaloons, 2 pair cotton striped do. 1 striped cotton and 1 woollen roundabout, straw hat and some muslin shirts— suppossed to have a false pass. His bundle was tied with a check handkerchief. Fifty Dollars will be given if taken within the state; and One Hundred Dollars if taken out of the State of Maryland and secured in any jail so that I get him again, and all reasonable expenses defrayed if brought home.
