Death of a patriot.

George Washington Sprigg, an old and highly respected colored man, aged nearly ninety years, died at his residence in Old Town, on Tuesday evening after a patriarchal and honorable life. The deceased, although moving in the humbler walks of life, was well known and greatly esteemed for the excellencies of his character. He was born in Georgetown, and in his earlier days, enjoyed the personal friendship and esteem of the Father of his Country. When Sprigg was christened Mrs. Martha Washington presented him with a full suit of clothes, on account of his name and service in the family of a relative.
