12 Dollars Reward.
RAN AWAY from the Subscriber, 3rd. inst. in Marshcreek settlement, York County, Pennsylvania, a Negro Man, named TOM, about 27 years of age, about 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, a straight well made fellow, much the make of a white man, thin and white lipped, can speak the German language, and can play on the fiddle; had on when he went away a striped cotton coat and waistcoat, old cotton breeches, half worn felt hat, and yarn stockings. It is supposed he stole a grey Horse, 5 years old, 15 hands high, a natural pacer, no brand, was exceeding lame for want of shoes when stolen, was seen riding through Miller’s town, and passing Scott’s, making over the South mountain with great speed; it is thought he is endeavouring to get to Virginia.
Whoever apprehends said Negro and Horse, and secures or brings them home shall, if 25 miles from home, have the above reward, and in proportion for a less distance; and for the Negro alone Eight Dollars, and for the Horse Four Dollars, paid by either of us.
